The problem is, that so many people end up not using their garden because they think it’s something that takes too much time and effort or is something that they just don’t know where to start.
However, the good news is, there’s actually a whole lot you can do with your garden that doesn’t cost a small fortune, so in this post, I’m going to share with you some of the creative ways you can use your garden.
Add a decking area:
A decking area is a great addition to any garden – especially if your garden is bigger because this can really break up the space you have available. The decking area is something that can make a brilliant place just to sit and relax and also for entertaining your guests during family events or just chilling out with friends. Another good thing about a decking area is that they can be customized to fit the space you have available without taking up half the garden.
Add a pool:
Adding a swimming pool to your garden can be a great way to use up any extra space that you have and really get the full enjoyment from your garden. The great thing about having a pool is they’re not anywhere near as expensive as they used to be or as most people seem to think that they are. Nowadays you can get a swimming pool for a relatively low price and in pretty much any shape and size that you want, so that it will fit in your garden. Although having a pool is definitely a responsibility and they require ongoing maintenance and care such as replacing the pumps and making sure that everything is kept clean. If you need to look for a water pump repairs company in your area this will be advised to you when you’re installing your pool.
Add a hot tub:
If you’re not quite ready to go for a swimming pool yet, then a hot tub could be a good alternative and is still something that you will get a lot of enjoyment from in your garden. The good thing about a hot tub vs a swimming pool is that you can use it pretty much any time of the year and something that’s sometimes even better to use in winter since the contrast of the cold air and hot water is more enjoyable and this is a good feature to have, for example when you’re entertaining or you just want to have some relaxation in the garden.
Add a barbecue area:
A barbecue area is something that the whole family will be able to enjoy and is great for entertaining. It’s also a good way to use up any extra space that you have in your garden and nowadays you can find so many different types of barbecues and even in built concrete cooking areas that you can really customise and turn into a nice outdoor dining area.
Add a man/woman cave:
The concept of the man cave and woman cave is something that has really taken off in the last few years, and with good reason. This is a great alternative to having a separate room in the house and really allows you to create a space for yourself that is just yours and where you can do things like enjoy your hobbies or just take some time out for yourself if you have a house full of children.
For example, a man cave could be somewhere where your partner hangs out with his friends and also if you want to have a woman cave, this could also be somewhere you meet with your friends, and it can also be a place where you perhaps take a few hours during the week just for yourself to read a good book and get some self-care. You can find lots of ideas for a man cave and woman cave online and it doesn’t have to be as expensive as you think.
Add a play area:
If you have some space available in your garden and you also have children or even grandchildren, then adding something like a play area could be a great use of space and also a place for them to play safely. You can add things like climbing frames, slides, swings or even a bouncy castle and sandpit for them.
This is a great way to keep them busy and occupied whilst encouraging them to play outdoors and allowing you to supervise easily enough.
You can find plenty of equipment for making a play area outside online where you can also find more ideas and inspiration on places like Pinterest (my favourite!!) if you’re able and willing to make your own items.
For example, if you have any joinery skills or you know someone who does, then this could be a great use of your skills to build secure and tailored play area equipment for the children.
Add a bar:
This idea is my personal favourite. If you have always dreamt of having your own bar, then this could be a great way to make that dream a reality. Especially if you live in a place where you have a good climate, then having a bar in your garden could be a great way to really make the most of the good weather. Alternatively, you can also add a partial roof to the bar for the times when it’s raining so you can still enjoy the bar. You can customise your bar and you’ll definitely find that there are plenty of places online where you can find the equipment, and also bunch of ideas and inspiration to create your bar just the way you want it.
